About This Spot

Lockwood Distilling Company in Richardson welcomes you into a space where Southern warmth meets thoughtful craftsmanship. The moment you step inside, there’s a comfortable hum—a blend of lively chatter, clinking glasses, and the subtle undercurrent of live music drifting over the patio. Whether you find yourself settled at the bar, where friendly bartenders mix cocktails with an easy confidence, or at one of the roomy tables, the atmosphere promotes relaxed yet engaging gatherings.

This is a place where the pace invites you to linger — savoring moments as much as flavors. The buzz feels effortless, striking a balance between a neighborhood bar’s casual spirit and the inviting charm of a distillery with genuine roots. It’s the kind of spot where families feel equally at home alongside groups of friends catching up over well-crafted drinks and shared plates.

The menu feels like an inviting conversation about familiar flavors, reinvented with care and a certain spirited twist. You might find yourself drawn to a plate of smoky, tender chicken or a rich, savory hash, while your companion debates whether to pair a creamy pimento cheese spread or something with a sharper kick from the cocktail menu. This isn’t a rush-through meal, but a chance to savor thoughtful Southern-inspired fare alongside inventive drinks that reflect the distillery’s character. Drinks are more than just afterthoughts here — they carry the story of the spirits and the hands that craft them.

The staff’s warm attentiveness meshes well with the easygoing vibe, making each visit feel personal and unhurried. Outdoor seating offers a gentle breeze and the kind of open space that encourages lingering conversations, while inside, the well-designed layout makes room for both quiet moments and lively celebrations.

Lockwood Distilling Company is less about spotlight flare and more about genuine connection—whether with good company, thoughtfully prepared food, or a cocktail that feels made just for you. It’s a reminder that local flavors and shared spaces can create something quietly special.

Sat at the bar for happy hour and Austin was great. You'll get the best service at the bar. I did notice a waitress just standing around and her tables had to come find her to ask for stuff. Great happy hour if you're a cocktail fan. No beers or wine on special. Great happy hour food prices and options. The deviled eggs, cracklins and burger were all awesome. They might want to better train their staff to not sit at the bar in uniform off shift and complain about tips and other businesses right in front of customers.

Good drinks and good food. Pimento cheese and crackers was pretty tasty, bean dip also got rave reviews. Gotta ask for extra bread for that one. Incredible chicken sandwich. Chicken is juicy, breading is crunchy, sauce is killer. Would absolutely order again. Pastrami sandwich is ok but pales in comparison to the chicken. Potato salad is mustard based like it should be. Not sure it’s worth the $4 up charge. Wife liked the loaded tots, for $6 up charge I wasn’t super impressed. BTE was good. All the drinks were very tasty. If you can get there for happy hour they have some good deals but they’re worth full price if not. I feel like the fee for getting a side that’s not chips is garbage, but that’s the only gripe. And I guess I’ll just have to live with it because I’m sure we will be back. Update 12/20/25 North Star was ok, BTE is better Chicken sandwich is still incredible. Don’t forget about happy hour 3-6 and starting at 8pm.

My only issue was the COMEBACK CRACKERS on the GRAZING BOARD. They literally obliterated the flavor of anything and everything on the board. A great cheese board will have neutral crackers that do not take away from the meat, cheese and components of the charcuterie board. All of the other ingredients and items fantastic sans the cracker. The wait staff and atmosphere are top notch and I will definitely be back. My daughter and I sampled a variety of specialty items on the drink menu and while some didn’t suit our preferences, the quality and value was superb.

I was craving something warm and boozy so my friend and I decided to check this place out and had the best time! This distillery and restaurant was super clean and had such a comfortable family atmosphere and a nice sized patio. I especially loved the live music being played on the patio. The manager Tony was so nice and welcoming and gave us a complete run down of the distillery, cocktails and the stories behind them, which made the experience that much better. Every cocktail we tried was spectacular ! My friend started with the Rosemary Lavendar Gimlet and I had the seasonal Gingerbread Hot Toddy which was SOOOO good! We a tried the Lockwood Sazerac, Black Currant Hibiscus Froze, and the Little Red Corvette . As a person who typically doesn’t order frozen drinks the Little Red Corvette was definitely one of the best frozen drinks I’ve ever had, it had such a unique and balanced taste and it was not overbearingly sweet. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, they’ve also got great food! I enjoyed the Vegan Bahn and tater tots and my friend enjoyed the Dirty South Tots and Tomato Basil Soup! Everything was delicious! It’s safe to say we LOVED IT and had such an amazing time. We will definitely be back sooner rather than later!!

Stopped here on the way to a wedding reception to grab a pre-drink and it was perfect. The vibes and space are well thought of to accommodate different crowds. From sitting outdoor to hug tables and chair and regular dinning. We sat at the bar and they were pretty busy., this was a Saturday evening. Still we got greeted and welcomed and served water in a timely manner. The bartender told us about their menu and answered some questions we had about their Menu. In our opinion the cocktails were a tad bit too sweet but good. They have a big Menu to chose from. In this occasion we only had a drink but will definitely return to try out their food. We also enjoyed the live Music
